Adult Summer Studio Series MAY Game Makers Week 1 Build Game Board

MAY: Game Makers—Build Your Own Board Game

Week 1: Game Makers: Build Your Board Game ($35)

Roll the dice on creativity! Campers will design and build their own board games—complete with hand-sculpted pieces and painted boards. This week we’ll design our board and paint/decorate that. We will have a jig-saw available if you want to customize the shape of your board.

Week 2: Game pieces ($35)

Next, sculpt your game pieces or minis out of clay. We’ll fire them, and then you can paint them by hand next week. Or glaze them.

Week 3: Map ($35)

Games and maps go hand-in-hand. Plan out a map of your world so that you know where your quest is taking you! Instructors will show you how to sketch out floating sky islands or create traditional maps, complete with burnt edges and symbols.

Week 4: Game Cards ($35)

Your game will needs cards that direct your players to “Pass Go”. Or perhaps your cards will describe characters’ abilities. Let’s brainstorm and make some foundational cards and some templates that you can add to as the game evolves.

MAY Summer Studio: Game Maker--Build Your Own Board Game
$35.00

Scroll to the very bottom to register for specific weeks.

Come make a board game with us! Each week we’ll help you create a different part of the game: the first week you’ll design the layout on wood, paint it and decorate it. Then in later weeks you can create clay game pieces, and then game cards and a map for your game’s world!

No pressure. No perfection required. Just curiosity, creativity, and community.

Cost: Usually $35 (depending on materials) each weekly session where instruction is included. Finish things up during our Open Studio hours any time on the weekend. Pay only for extra materials you might wish to purchase, such as extra clay.

Sign up for one or just a couple or all of them!

Kids welcome with adult supervision. This would be a fun family activity!

Tools without Tears at the Warehouse: April--Toolbox!

Tools without Tears’ April project is a toolbox! We’re doing these at the warehouse!

Build something useful—and build confidence along the way. In April’s Tools Without Tears session, you’ll create a simple wooden toolbox from start to finish, learning essential skills like measuring, cutting, assembling, and sanding in a relaxed, supportive environment. Perfect for adults working alongside kids or anyone ready to get comfortable using tools, this project is all about hands-on learning, shared accomplishment, and taking home something you’ll actually use.

Cost: $35 All materials included. Finish things up free of charge during our Open Studio hours (Saturdays 1pm - 4pm) or during Tools Without Tears on Sundays from 11am - 1pm. Pay once for instruction or purchase extra materials (like sequins!) to bling it up.

Kids welcome with adult supervision. This would be a fun family activity!

Week 1 (Sunday, April 19): Toolbox Instruction

Week 2 (Sunday, April 26): Toolbox Instruction (for those who couldn’t come the first week)

We’re offering the same instruction as last time, for those who couldn’t make it last week. Or come back and finish your toolbox (no charge!).

Kids' Camp Dinosaur and Dragon Days on Friday, Feb 27 @ 9am - noon

Step into the past! Young artists will design and build their very own dragons or dinosaurs, starting with basic shapes. Campers can add on their own details to take it to the next level or keep it simple. If you sign up for both camps, you can make the second one on the next day!

Campers will learn basic hand-building techniques while exploring texture, form, and creative problem-solving in a supportive, playful studio environment. We’ll encourage storytelling and imaginative thinking as each child brings their fairy home to life—no two houses will be the same!
